Some of you know we recently moved across the country and will be trying to sell our old house for a while. So, we are cutting costs in new and interesting ways. First: no cable. That's right. No DVR. No pause. Not even local channels.
So far, the plan is to read, and watch any shows on the Internet: www.hulu.com will be our golden ticket.
We'll let you know how it goes. Also, feel free to suggest good reading in the comments section. We'll both need it. www.half.com and www.paperbackswap.com will help us a lot here, along with our local library system.
I know...some of you out there are laughing because you already live without cable. But for us...this is a big, big, big step, and we hope that cutting the cord will come with many other benefits of a simpler, more organic life.
Update: We ended up getting 10 free local cable channels with out Internet at no extra charge. Hurray!
